MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's basketball team wrapped up the 2017-18 campaign with a loss at Augsburg University, 109-69 Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall. The Scots finish the year 3-22 overall and 2-18 in conference play, while the Auggies are 18-7, 13-7 MIAC.
Augsburg gained the upper hand early in the first half with a 15-2 run to lead 22-7 with 12:07 on the clock. Macalester responded with a 14-5 run of its own to cut the deficit to 27-21. Senior guard

Aidan Toner-Rodgers (Sebastopol, Calif./Analy) added another, and junior forward
Tyler Seaberg (Chattanooga, Tenn./Baylor School) capped the run with a conventional three-point play. But the Auggies tallied the next 12 points to eventually take a 56-31 advantage at the half.
Augsburg continued to control play in the second half, opening the period with a 14-2 spree for a commanding 70-33 lead with 16:02 to play. The Auggies closed out its second win of the season over the Scots and clinched fourth place in the final MIAC standings.
First year forward
Jackson Henningfield (Lake Mary, Fla./Lyman) was a bright spot today and throughout his first collegiate season, scoring a career-high 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. He also grabbed 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. Olson wrapped up his career in the Orange and Blue with 13 points and four assists. Sophomore guard
Nathan Davies (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin) added nine points on three three-pointers. Collin Olmscheid paced Augsburg with 21 points and seven boards.
