ST. JOSEPH, Minn.- The Macalester College women's soccer team lost in overtime today 1-0 to the College of Saint Benedict.

Despite being out shot 17-4, the Macalester defense was able to keep Saint Ben's off the score sheet for the whole of regular time.

The Scots pressed hard in the second half and were led by leading scorer sophomore Yukeria Haywood (Stone Mountain, Ga./Marist School) with two shots, one which forced the Saint Ben's keeper to make a save in the 82nd minute.

With an impressive performance by sophomore keeper Kayla Togneri (Ventura, Calif./Ventura) who had 9 saves total, Macalester went into overtime tied with Saint Ben's 0-0. Saint Ben's forced Togneri to make a crucial save with one minute left in regular time to keep the Scots in the game.

However just one minute and thirteen seconds into the first overtime period, Saint Ben's ended the game with a goal and won 1-0.

The Scots return home for their last game of the season against Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.
