Women's Soccer: Scots Fall to Bethel Royals

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College women's soccer team lost to MIAC No.3 Bethel University tonight, 4-0 . The Scots have just three more conference games left in the 2018 season.

The Scots were able to keep the Royals top offense at bay for most of the first half. Macalester were able to find success in the Bethel defensive half with seven shots tallied, including two on goal. But the Royals then scored with six minutes left and the Scots went into halftime down 1-0.

Into the second half, the Scots quickly fell behind 2-0 when the Royals scored just thirty-five seconds into the half. Five minutes later, the Royals upped their lead to 3-0.

Macalester did have offensive chances with first year Zoe Kross (Queen Creek, Ariz./Basha) and sophomore Emelie Beattie (Seattle, Wash./The Northwest School) each having a shot blocked by the Bethel defense in the 49th minute.

However, Macalester was unable to finish on the offensive end and lost the game 4-0 .

The Scots return to play at home against Saint Mary's University on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.
