Regan Fruh (Helena, Mont./Helena) registered 23 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks, as the Macalester College women's basketball team defeated St. Catherine University on the road, 61-46 Wednesday night at the Butler Center. The Scots improve to 7-11 overall and 3-8 in league play, while the Wildcats drop to 7-11, 3-8 MIAC.

Vivi Gregorich (Boulder, Colo./Boulder) hitting three three-pointers. The Wildcats answered with a 12-4 run that put the hosts ahead, 21-20 with 5:46 to play in the second quarter. But seven points from Fruh and a pair of baskets by sophomore guard
Holly Hull (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest) allowed the Scots to outscore St. Kate's, 13-3 for the remainder of the quarter to take a 33-24 edge into halftime. Macalester held the Wildcats to 34.5 percent shooting in the first half while making 12-of-28 from the field in the first 20 minutes.
After St. Kate's closed to within six points early in the third quarter, the Scots tallied nine of the next 10 points, including a three from sophomore guard
Tyana Loiselle (Bloomer, Wis./Chippewa Falls), to lead 43-29 with six minutes left in the quarter. Macalester pushed the lead to as many as 21 points, as the Scots ended a four-game skid in conference games. Macalester shot 52.6 percent from the floor in the second half and hit 6-of-12 from three-point range for the game.
Fruh was 5-of-6 from the field after halftime and 8-of-16 overall while making 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Gregorich ended up with 11 points and four assists, and Loiselle tallied 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a solid, all-around effort. Alexis Garcia led the Wildcats with 13 points.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 27 at Concordia College. The MIAC match-up starts at 3:00 p.m. in Moorhead, Minn.
