ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's basketball team fell to St. Catherine University, 81-57 in Saturday afternoon MIAC action at the Leonard Center. With just a four-point spread to start the fourth quarter (54-50), the Wildcats outscored the Scots 27-7 in the final 10 minutes to secure a victory. With the loss, Macalester falls to 8-15 overall and 3-13 in league play. St. Kate's improves to 12-11 overall and 6-10 in the MIAC.
Both teams battled hard to start the game, with the Scots entering the half down just two (37-35). Macalester kept the scoring effort even again in the third quarter, tacking on 15 points to the Wildcats' 17. St. Kate's didn't let up as they took off on a fourth quarter run and never looked back. The Wildcats shot 55% from the field in the second half and held Macalester to a 23.3% average by doubling in the post and forcing outside shots.
Regan Fruh (Helena, Mont./ Helena) led the Scots offensively on the night, finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Lauren Clamage (Lake Forest, Ill. / Lake Forest Academy) added 11 after connecting on three of eight shots from beyond the arc and both free throw attempts. Senior guard
Erin Murray (Sparta, Wis. / Sparta) finished with 10 points, five rebounds and six assists.
Sophomore
Leah Gray (San Rafael, Calif. / Branson School) finished with three blocks in the contest, bringing her total this season to 56 – a new Macalester record for most blocks in a season.

The Scots will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when they travel to Minneapolis to take on Augsburg College. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
