ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-1 loss to the College of St. Benedict Wednesday afternoon at  St. Benedict. The Scots (9-4-3) fall out of the top six in the MIAC standings with a league mark of 4-4-2, while the Blazers improve to 9-5-2, 5-4-1 MIAC.

St. Benedict opened the scoring on a goal by Taylor Hedin in the 18th minute. The goal ended Macalester's string of four consecutive shutouts that stretched over 460 minutes. In the 23rd minute, junior forward Jaime Hasama (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Peninsula) tied the game off an assist from senior midfielder Rae Hohle (Aurora, Ill./Illinois Math & Science). Hedin's second goal of the game in the 38th minute put the Blazers back on top, as she scored for the 12th time this season. Jenna Kleason made it a 3-1 lead with her goal in the 57th minute.

The Scots put eight of their 11 shots on goal, with St. Benedict's Heather Kaluzniak making seven saves to preserve the win. Junior goalkeeper Emma Toomer (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) recorded three saves in goal while facing eight Blazers' shots on the day.
