ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team fell to Bethel University, 25-16, 25-12, 25-19 in a MIAC match Tuesday night in the Leonard Center. The Scots drop to 9-17 overall and 1-9 in the conference, while the Royals improve to 16-9, 6-5 MIAC.

India Medaris (Napa, Calif./Justin Siena) tallied a team-best nine kills to go with 16 digs and two blocks to pace Macalester. Junior outside hitter
Clara Baumann (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) recorded five kills and a match-high 23 digs, while senior
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) notched five kills, 10 assists, seven digs and four total blocks. Senior
Samantha Bongiorno (Richardson, Texas/Shelton School) also delivered 10 assists to go with 15 digs, with senior libero
Hoai-Nam Bui (McLean, Va./Langley) contributing 22 digs defensively. Carlee and Tina Hoppe led Bethel with 13 and 12 kills, respectively.
Macalester concludes the 2016 season with a home MIAC match against St. Thomas on Saturday, Oct. 29. The first serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
