Box Score 2 SHERMAN, TEXAS – The Macalester College volleyball team journeyed south to compete in the Austin College Tournament for a weekend of non-conference action. The Scots split today, defeating Rust College in straight sets and falling to tournament host, Austin College 0-3 Friday evening.

Annie Doman recapped the Scots' win over Rust College stating, "In the first match we had the opportunity to try a variety of roster options and the team adjusted very well to the changes."

As the Scots took on tournament host Austin College, Macalester suffered from an early set one deficit. The Roos took the match in straight sets, winning 25-13, 26-24 and 25-15.

Doman commented, "We were competitive and played with them throughout the entirety of the match. The team brought great energy and support. Clara was very strong for us in the front row and Cora added defensive toughness."

Clara Baumann (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) led the Scots offensively with 11 kills. Baumann earned her first double-double of the season after picking up 13 digs in the three-set match as well.

Cora Trout (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) finished with a team-high 19 digs.
Arianna Hesterberg (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor) dished out 23 assists in the match and tacked on an impressive five aces.
