ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's basketball team hosted St. Mary's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in the Leonard Center. In a first half battle, the Scots held a lead for nearly six minutes of action as the game proceeded to boast eight lead changes and 10 tied scores. The Scots came up short in the second 20 minutes of play, falling 76-54 in final scoring.
Macalester falls to 3-11 this season and 0-7 in MIAC play. St. Mary's University improves to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in conference action.
Trailing by six at the half (33-27), the Scots quickly cut the lead to three as sophomore
Lauren Clamage hit a three-point shot just 30 second into second-half action. Macalester was able to tie the game up at both the 16:56 and the 14:41 marks. The Cardinals responded with an 11-point run that Macalester never could recover from.
Freshman center
Regan Fruh led the Scots with 15 points on seven of 11 shooting from the field. Fruh grabbed seven rebounds.
Junior
Erin Murray was the second Macalester player to finish in double-digit scoring. Murray finished with 12 points after knocking down two of three shots from beyond the arc and four of seven from the field.

Grace Dickman each dished out three assists.
Park Masterson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and finished with eight points for the Scots.
Senior forward
Annie Drabot grabbed six rebounds and came up with two steals.
Molly O'Toole and Micaela Meredith led St. Mary's, each scoring 17 points.
The Scots will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21 as they host St. Ben's in a 7 p.m. MIAC match-up.
