ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A 60.3 percent shooting performance and a pair of 20-point scorers enabled Macalester to end a 10-game losing streak with a 99-50 win over North Central.
The Scots topped 60 percent shooting in both halves and topped 55 percent in three-point shooting in both halves, finishing 10 for 17 from beyond the arc, in their best shooting performance of the season.
The shooting effort was led by
Vivi Gregorich, who scored a career-high 22 points coming off the bench by hitting eight of 11 field goal attempts, including six of nine from three-point range, while playing 17 minutes.
Lauren Clamage put up 20 points in 15 minutes, hitting 10 of 12 field goal attempts.
Twelve of Macalester's 13 players saw action in at least 10 minutes and all 13 recorded points, including
Leah Gray, who made her collegiate debut and hit a three-point basket to go two rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 10 minutes of action.
As a team, the Scots tallied season highs in assists (22) and steals (16)
Grace Dickman led the assist parade with seven while
Erin Murray had six. Both Murray and
G.G. Gunther had four steals.
Regan Fruh also finished in double digits scoring, popping in 14 points along with a team-high five rebounds.
Macalester returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, Wednesday, with a 7 p.m. game at Bethel.
