Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Macalester College volleyball team took the court at Alumni Gymnasium in the Leonard Center for the first time in the 2014 season. The Scots set the stage early, gliding to a 3-0 victory over the Rams of North Central University. Set scores came in at 25-13, 25-18 and 25-10.
The Scots improve to 3-2 overall this season, while North Central falls to 1-4.
Sophomore outside hitter
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn.) took charge tonight as she posted 12 kills and a .647 attack percentage. Hunter added in three service aces and three digs in the three-set match.
Freshman outside hitter
Clara Bauman (Wausau, Wis.) tacked on eight kills in just 14 attempts. Bauman added in nine digs and connected on seven service aces during the match, with four of those coming in the third set.
Sophomore setter
Samantha Bongiorno (Richardson, Tex.) dished out 20 assists and added four aces. Macalester combined for 16 aces in the match to North Central's two.
Junior libero
Cora Trout (Columbia, Mo.) finished with a team-high 11 digs.
Macalester will return to action tomorrow evening as they host Martin Luther College at 7 p.m.
