Gustavus Adolphus claimed wins in the third and fourth sets to gain a 3-1 MIAC triumph over Macalester in St. Peter.  The Gusties advance to 7-9 overall, 2-2 in the MIAC.  Macalester drops to 10-9 overall and 1-3 in MIAC play.

Laura Avena (Sr., Cesis, Latvia / Riga State Gymnasium No. 1) led the way for Macalester.  The All-MIAC hitter finished with a match-high 22 kills while hitting at a .321 rate, while also collecting 12 digs.

Mac's No. 2 attacker was Brooke Hunter (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) with 14 kills.  She also contributed three blocks.

Leading the way in the back row was Cora Trout (So., Columbia, Mo. / Rock Bridge) with 26 digs, and directing the attack was Kasey McMaster (So., Oak Ridge, Tenn.) with 36 set assists. 

Mac returns to MIAC action Wednesday (Oct. 2) at Hamline.
