Augsburg scored twice in three minutes in the first half, the second on a penalty, and held off the Scots for a 2-1 MIAC triumph Saturday night at Macalester Stadium. The Scots yield more than a single goal for the first time in eight matches, falling to 5-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in MIAC competition. Augsburg goes to 6-2-1 on the season, 2-1 in the league.
The Auggies out-shot their hosts 12-11. Each side registered four shots on goal.
In the 35th minute, Augsburg took charge with its first goal and then was awarded and converted a PK in the 38th minute to take a 2-0 advantage heading into the intermission break. Macalester played very well in the second half and have several scoring opportunities, including a made penalty kick by
Robin Forslund (Sr., Madison, Wis. / Memorial). For Forslund, it was his second score of the year.

Noah Schoenberg turned away two shots on net, while the Augsburg goalkeeper posted three saves on the night.
The Scots get right back into action Tuesday (Oct. 1) when they host St. John's at 7:30 p.m.
