Macalester claimed victories in three of its four matches this weekend at the Luther College / Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Invitational in Decorah, Iowa.
Laura Avena (Sr., Cesis, Latvia / Riga State Gymnasium No. 1) was selected to the all-tournament play.
Macalester def. Knox 25-15, 25-16, 25-7
Kasey McMaster (So., Oak Ridge, Tenn.) set 24 assists and Avena produced eight kills on a .636 percentage and a team-high eight digs. Brook Hunter (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) led the attack with nine kills and was one of four Scots with a pair of serving aces.
The Scots hit .541, compared to .083 for Knox.

The Scots boosted their record to 8-6 by sweeping the Vikings in Saturday's opening match. Macalester hit .392 and way paced by Hunter with 11 kills and a .500 hitting mark. McMaster dished out 30 of her team's 32 assists and
Hannah Rehak (Jr., Chicago, Ill. / Walter Payton College Prep) had four blocks.

McMaster handed out 26 assists as Mac gained its third sweep of the tournament. The Scots leave town with a 9-6 record on the season. Avena had 11 kills and nine digs, and Hunter had nine digs and three aces.
The Scots open MIAC play Wednesday (Sept. 18) at defending NCAA Division III champ St. Thomas.
