After a tie and three defeats, all without scoring a goal, Macalester got back to its winning ways Tuesday in Moorhead, getting a pair of goals from
Robin Forslund (Sr., Madison, Wis. / Memorial) to topple Concordia 2-0. With just one match to go on the season, the Scots are 7-8-2 on the season and 3-4-2 in MIAC play. The Cobbers fall to 5-11-1 overall, 2-7 in MIAC play.
Forslund, and all-conference performer, netted his third goal of the season on a
Dylan Wong assist on a breakaway in the 61st minute.
Alan Schembri-Wismayer (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Lourdes) assisted on Forslund's second goal at 89:59 as the Scots opened up their lead to two goals.
Macalester out-shot the Cob bers 13-7, including 4-3 in shots on goal. Forslund had all four Macalester shots on net and
Noah Schoenberg picked up three goalkeeper saves for the Scots.
The Scots have a chance to finish at .500 both overall and in MIAC play when they close out the regular season Saturday (Nov. 2) at St. Mary's.
