Concordia kept its unbeaten hold on first place in the MIAC standings when it swept the Scots in Moorhead, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-22 and 25-19. The Cobbers improve to 18-7 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the MIAC by defeating Macalester for the 13th year in a row, while Mac drops to 13-12 on the season, 4-5 in conference play.
Kasey McMaster (So., Oak Ridge, Tenn.) dished out 30 assists to lead the Scots.
Hannah Rehak (Jr., Chicago, Ill. / Walter Payton College Prep) had eight kills, while
Laura Avena (Sr., Cesis, Latvia / Riga State Gymnasium No. 1) and
Brooke Hunter (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) each added seven kills, with Avena also producing a team-best 15 digs.
Cora Trout (So., Columbia, Mo. / Rock Bridge) added eight digs, while adding seven each were McMaster and
Emma Lehman (Fy., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township). Rehak finished with four blocks.
The Cobbers were led by Kayla Hampton with nine kills. Concordia hit .279, compared to .108 for Mac.
The Scots, who were denied their fourth straight conference win, are back in action Saturday (Oct. 26) against Augsburg at home at 3 p.m.
