The University of Chicago out-scored the Scots 13-0 in the fourth quarter and went on to beat Macalester 26-7 Saturday afternoon in Chicago. The host-Maroons improve to 5-1, while the Scots drop to 2-4.
Macalester quarterback
Samson Bialostok (Jr., North Woodmere, N.Y. / Lawrence) rushed for 122 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter. He also passed for 108 yards on a 15-for-28 performance.
Ian Gaines ran for 75 yards and Vincent Cortina was 12-for-23 passing for 150 as the University of Chicago toppled visiting Macalester. The Maroons held the Scots to 10 first downs and stopped Mac on nine of 11 third-down conversion tries. UC led 286-244 in total yardage.
Macalester's top tacklers were
Joe Dykema (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) and
Ryan Fleming (So., Charlotte, Vt. / Champlain Valley Union).
Jole Miller (Jr., Misssouri Valley, Ia.) was in on nine stops and had one pass broken up.
The Scots host Washington University in St. Louis next Saturday (Oct. 26) at 12 noon.
