Going for their second win of the season against Martin Luther College, the Scots came up short in a 3-0 defeat to the Knights in New Ulm.  Macalester remains over .500 on the season, but falls to 12-11, while MLC moves forward to 12-9.  Set scores were 25-16, 25-17 and 27-25.

Brooke Hunter (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) and Laura Avena (Sr., Cesis, Latvia / Riga State Gymnasium No. 1) each contributed 11 kills to lead the Macalester attack.  Hannah Rehak (Jr., Chicago, Ill. / Walter Payton College Prep) and Caitlyn O'Neil (Fy., Carmichael, Calif. / Rio Americano) added five kills apiece.  O'Neil added three blocks.

Kasey McMaster (So., Oak Ridge, Tenn.) helped out with 30 set assists, and Emma Lehman (Fy., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) served a pair of aces.  Avena led the defensive performance with 24 digs, while Cora Trout (So., Columbia, Mo. / Rock Bridge) added 15 and Lehman had 11.

Rebecca Engelrecht led MLC with 14 kills.

The Scots are back in MIAC action Saturday (Oct. 19) when they host St. Catherine at 3 p.m.
