Men’s Soccer: Scots and Oles play to scoreless tie

Box Score
Macalester hosted second-place St. Olaf, a key contender for the conference crown, and battled the Oles to a 0-0 deadlock through 110 minutes of play in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.  The final score was indeed reflected of this match: evenly played and defensive minded.

Zeke Vanier (Fy., Melrose, Mass.) made three saves against the Ole attack to record his team's fifth shutout of the season and lower his goals against average to 1.19.  The Scots are now 6-5-2 on the season and 2-2-2 in the MIAC.

The Oles out-shot Mac 11-7, including 3-2 in attempts on net, and held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.  St. Olaf is now 9-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the MIAC.

Macalester plays four of its final five regular-season games on the road, starting next Wednesday (Oct. 16) at Carleton.
