The Scots at Wisconsin-Platteville played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer  on a warm Friday night in front of a big crowd at Macalester Stadium.  Playing on the home field for the first time this season, Mac played well in this close match against a strong Platteville team, which came in with a 5-1 record.

This was Macalester's first scoreless deadlock in 63 games, since the 2009 season-opener.

Each team had scoring chances but could not sneak anything past the keepers.  Macalester's Jesse Yourish (Sr., Port Townsend, Wash.) registered his first collegiate shutout by make seven saves on the night, while UWP's Ian Christensen made five stops.

The Pioneers out-shot the Scots 18-16, including 5-3 in the overtime stanzas.  Mac led 5-2 in corner kicks.  Five different Scots had shots on goal.

Macalester plays host to No. 4-ranked Loras (Ia.) Sunday (Sept. 26) at 12 noon.  It's the first match of a Mac vs. Loras men's / women's soccer doubleheader at Macalester Stadium.
