St. John's handed the Scots an MIAC defeat in Collegeville, scoring twice in the opening half and going on to gain a 3-0 MIAC victory Wednesday night.  SJU scored three minutes into the match and never looked back.

The Johnnies move into a tie for fourth place in the conference standings at 4-2-1 (7-5-3 overall).  Macalester is 2-6 in the MIAC, 3-11-1 overall.  St. John's is 4-1-1 over its last three games.

Each team had five shots on net, with St. John's collecting three goalkeeper saves.  Taylor Rasmussen (Sr., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview) accounted for two of Mac's scoring chances but could not increase his career scoring total past 33.

Macalester looks to snap a three-match slump when it travels to Waverly, Iowa, to take on Wartburg Saturday night (Oct. 20).  The Scots return to MIAC play next Tuesday (Oct. 23) when it hosts St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m.
