Macalester vs. Hamline statistics
Robin Forslund (So., Madison, Wis. / Memorial) and
Taylor Rasmussen (Jr., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview) scored goals for visiting Macalester as the Scots topped Hamline 2-1 to advance to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC. The Scots successfully bounce back from a defeat to Augsburg earlier in the week.
Forslund opened the scoring midway through the opening half off a corner kick, putting in his second goal of the season.
After the Pipers tied the score in the 79th minute, Forslund assisted on Rasmussen's game-winner at 82:22. It was Rasmussen's fifth goal of the season and 23rd in his Macalester career.
Macalester out-shot the hosts 17-9, including 11-5 in shots on net. Rasmussen accounted for five shots on goal and Forslund had four. The Scots owned a 10-2 lead in corner kicks and received four saves from
Matt Weyer (Sr., Cedarburg, Wis.).
Hamline drops to 2-5-1 on the season and 0-2 in the MIAC.
The Scots face a major test when they take on Carleton Wednesday (Sept. 28) in Northfield.
