Macalester vs. Loras statistics

Macalester challenged No. 16-ranked Loras in Dubuque, Iowa, and were defeated for the third time in four matches, falling 2-1 to the DuHawks. Loras –the five-time defending Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champs, improves to 3-1-1, while the Scots are now 1-3.

All nine goalkeeper saves on the day were recorded by Mac's Matt Weyer (Sr., Cedarburg, Wis.), who kept his team in the game. Loras out-shot Macalester 18-10, including 11-2 in tries on net. The DuHawks avenge a 1-0 setback to the Scots a year ago.

Loras struck first, scoring at 19:16, and led 1-0 at the intermission.

Taylor Rasmussen (Jr., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview) headed in a cross from Robin Forslund (So., Madison, Wis. / Memorial) to tie the match 1-1 in the 59th minute. This was Rasmussen's second score of the season. Loras, however, regained the lead in the 62nd minute.

Macalester opens defence of its MIAC crown when it plays host to St. John's at Wednesday (Sept. 14) at 7:30 p.m.
