Macalester vs. St. Catherine statistics

Down two sets to none, Macalester fought back on Senior Day against St. Catherine at the Leonard Center, but the Wildcats hung on to win the decisive fifth set 15-8.  St. Kate's pulled out the first two sets by identical 25-21 scores before the Scots rallied with 25-21 and 25-22 wins in sets three and four in this closely-contest match.

Macalester's two seniors closed out their careers with strong performances.  Setter Danielle Dweck (Sea Cliff. N.Y. / North Shore) handed out 41 assists to go along with 13 digs, and middle hitter Taylor Tinkham (St. Louis Park, Minn.) contributed 16 kills.

Laura Avena (So., Cesis, Latvia / Riga Gimnasium #1) led the attack with 21 kills and also helped the back row play with nine digs.  Glasha Marcon (Jr., Richmond, Calif. / Albany) led the defense with a career-best 29 digs.  Marcon had 29 of her team's 64 digs.

The Scots closed out their third set win on a Casey Colodny kill and finished their set four battle on kills by Colodny and Avena.  St. Kate's went up 11-6 in the final set before clinching the match.

Macalester closes out at 6-23 on the season and 1-10 in the MIAC.  St. Kate's winds up at 18-11 overall, 4-7 in MIAC play.
