Macalester vs. St. Olaf statistics
St. Olaf overcame a 22-24 deficit in the first set, winning the next four points, and went on to gain a 26-24, 25-18, 25-16 MIAC victory over the Scots at the Leonard Center.
Glasha Marcon (Jr., Richmond, Calif. / Albany) had 18 digs to lead Macalester.
Laura Avena (So., Cesis, Latvia / Riga Gimnasium #1) knocked down 10 kills and
Taylor Tinkham (Sr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) added nine.
Danielle Dweck (Sr., Sea Cliff, N.Y. / North Shore) had 22 assists and eight digs and
Casey Colodny (Jr., Windermere, Fla. / Montverde Academy) finished with seven digs.
Mac's best set was the opening one as the Scots had a 50% side-out percentage. A five-point rally put the Scots up 11-10 and the Scots were within a point at 15-16 and 17-18. The Oles led 22-20 before four unanswered Macalester points put the Scots up 24-22.
Going for their second win in a row after beating Bethel 3-2 last weekend, the Scots are now 6-22 overall, 1-9 in the MIAC. The Oles snap a five-match league losing slump and move forward to 12-14 on the season, 3-7 in the MIAC.
St. Olaf was led by Katie Wolfram with 10 kills, and Maggie Prunty and Kelly Heissell with nine each. Justine Dammermann finished with 32 assists.
Macalester closes out the season Saturday (Oct. 29) for a Senior Day match with St. Catherine at the Leonard Center at 3 p.m. Dweck and Tinkham will be playing in the final home match for the Scots.
