After dropping a morning match to Northwestern-Roseville 3-0, Macalester came back in the afternoon to defeat Edgewood (Wis.) in a close 3-2 contest in the seventh-place match. The Scots went 1-3 in the tournament, which was won by St. Thomas, and stands at 6-4 on the season.

Majra Mucic (Sr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) was named to the all-tournament team after leading the Scots with 37 kills and 10 blocks in the four matches over the weekend. In the 19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12 come-from-victory over Edgewood, Mucic led the attack with 17 kills, while Taylor Tinkham (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) added 15. Kiera Coulter (Jr., Davis, Calif.) led the back row with 19 digs and Steffanie Fisher (So., Lindenhurst, Ill. / Lakes Community) handed out 35 assists.

Macalester gets back into action Tuesday (Sept. 14) at home against Minnesota-Morris and begins MIAC play Wednesday (Sept. 15) at Gustavus.
