Macalester vs. Carleton statistics
Four Scots reached double digits in scoring, led by a 22-point performance by MIAC scoring leader
Ann Baltzer (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.), and Macalester clinched home court advantage in next week's conference quarter-finals by defeating Carleton 71-50 in Northfield.
The Scots (now 15-9 overall and 15-6 in the MIAC) will be seeded third or fourth in the six-team playoffs and will make their first-ever appearance in the MIAC post-season. Mac will play Monday (Feb. 22) at the Leonard Center at 7:30 p.m. against either St. Thomas, Hamline or St. Catherine, depending on the results of Saturday's games. If Concordia avoids an upset by the hands of St. Olaf, the Scots will host St. Thomas, no matter what else happens Saturday.

In addition to getting 22 points from Baltzer, the Scots picked up 15 points from
Jessica Rene (So., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial), 13 from
Trina PaStarr (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) and 10 from
Holly Schiedermayer (So., Waupaca, Wis.). Rene knocked down 4-of-7 tries from beyond the three-point line.
Eartha Bell (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Breck School) grabbed 11 rebounds while adding four assists and three steals.
Megan Erlandson led Carleton with 11 points.
Macalester led 26-10 at the 7:17 mark of the first half and the advantage was in double figures the rest of the way, growing to 20 points at 49-29 with 15:18 to play.
The Scots led 18-2 in second chance points and 18-8 in points off turnovers.
Macalester closes out the regular-season Saturday (Feb. 20) for Senior Day against St. Catherine at 3 p.m. The Wildcats are battling Hamline for the final playoff berth. Saturday's is
