Macalester received a career-high 24 kills from Majra Mucic (Sr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) and 39 assists from Danielle Dweck (Jr., Sea Cliff, N.Y. / North Shore) to beat Hamline 14-25, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-19 at the Leonard Center as the Scots collect their second MIAC victory of the season.

Laura Avena (Fy., Cesis, Latvia / Riga Gimnasium #1) and Taylor Tinkham (Jr., St.Louis Park, Minn.) added 10 kills apiece, while Tinkham was in on five blocks. Avena served four of her team's eight aces and now has 43 aces on the year.

After the Pipers dominated the first set for an easy win, Macalester kept its composure and edged Hamline by two points in set two, getting a kill by Mucic to go up 24-22 and a Tinkham kill to win 25-23. The third set was also close throughout, with Mac extending an 18-16 advantage by scoring five unanswered points to go up 23-16.

The fourth and final set was also a battle. The Scots led 20-19 before putting the match away with a 5-0 run.

Hamline was led by Sammy Redman with 32 assists and Heidi Larsen with 14 digs.

The Scots are now 12-15 on the season and 2-7 in the MIAC.  The Pipers fall to 9-16 overall, 2-7 in conference play.
