Macalester vs. Loras statistics

After a night game Saturday at UW-Platteville, the Scots were faced with a great challenge Sunday afternoon after travelling to No. 4-ranked Loras in Dubuque, Ia. Loras, an NCAA Division III national semi-finalist in both '07 and '08, lived up to its billing in a 4-0 shutout over Macalester.

The Duhawks out-shot Macalester 14-8. The Scots forced the Loras keeper to make four saves and Mac earned a 3-2 corner kick advantage. Loras scored twice in each half.

Taylor Rasmussen (Fy., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview) accounted for two of Macalester's four shots on goal.

Macalester is now 1-3-1 through the tough pre-conference schedule, while the Duhawks advance to 4-0-1.

The MIAC season gets underway Wednesday (Sept. 16) at Concordia-Moorhead as the Scots believe their ambitious non-conference slate has prepared them well for run for a high league finish. Macalester has also played quality teams from Luther, St. Scholastica, Wartburg and UW-Platteville.
