Macalester vs. St. Thomas statistics
After leading by four points at halftime, the visiting St. Thomas Tommies opened the second stanza on a 12-2 run to go up by 14 points early in the second half. Macalester cut the margin to three points with 1:37 to play but could not get closer as St. Thomas held on for a 60-53 win.
St. Thomas stays in third place in the conference standings and improves to 12-6 on the season, 10-5 in the MIAC. With their sixth straight defeat, the Scots drop to 8-10 overall and 6-9 in the conference.
Trina PaStarr (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) contributed 20 points, seven rebounds, three blocked shots and a couple steals to lead the way for Macalester, while
Alyssa Lunde (Jr., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) had one of her best games of the season off the bench, finishing with 14 points and eight rebounds on a 6-for-10 shooting performance.
Jordyn Sears and Andi Olson netted 13 points each to pace St. Thomas. Jessica Katch had 12 points and three steals. Becky Thiesen just missed a double-double, contributing eight points and 20 boards.
