Macalester vs. St. Olaf statistics
Visiting St. Olaf attacked at a .374 percentage in a 3-0 sweep over Macalester at Leonard Center Wednesday night. The Oles stay alive in the hunt for an MIAC post-season spot and go to 18-10 overall, 4-4 in the MIAC. The Scots drop to 4-21 on the season and 0-8 in the conference.
The Oles dominated the first two sets 25-12 and 25-14, hitting .650 in set one and .577 in set two. Macalester found its game in the third set and played much better. After the score was deadlocked 21-21, 22-22, 23-23, 24-24 and 25-25 before St. Olaf wrapped up the match with the final two points.
Macalester's attack was led by
Erin Cusac (Jr., Pine River, Minn. / Pine River-Backus) and
Taylor Tinkham (Fy., St. Louis Park, Minn.) with seven kills each. Tinkham also had three blocks.
Danielle Dweck (Fy., Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) handed out 20 assists and provided nine digs and a couple aces.
Jessica Levin led the way for St. Olaf with 12 kills and five blocks, while Kelly Prunty finished with 35 assists.
The Scots host No. 6-ranked and MIAC-leading St. Thomas Friday (Oct. 24) at 7 p.m.
