Grace King (Jr., Northampton, Mass.) netted two goals for the second game in a row and Macalester beat host-St. Catherine 3-0. King, who also scored twice earlier in the week in a 2-0 victory over Carleton, has six goals on the season and has now moved into the No. 10 position on the school's all-time scoring list with 25.
Maddy Cochrane (So., Grand Marais, Minn. / Cook County) headed one in off a Grace Geiger (So., Seattle, Wash. / Bishop Blanchet) assist to get the scoring started just 7:47 into the match.
King tallied the first of her two goals at 25:22 and put things away with the team's third goal at 83:39. Maddie Mette (So., Burnsville, Minn.) assisted on King's second goal.
Mac out-shot the Wildcats by a commanding 24-6 margin and forced CSC goalkeeper Elizabeth Schreiner to make 16 saves on the day.
Macalester plays a non-conference game Tuesday (Sept. 18) at home with St. Scholastica and returns to MIAC action Friday (Sept. 21) at St. Olaf.
