All-conference third baseman Devin English (Jr., Annapolis, Md. / DeMatha) led the Macalester baseball team to doubleheader sweeps last week over Elmhurst (Ill.) and Minnesota-Morris at the Metrodome as the Scots are off to their best start in seven years. In the four games, English went 9-for-12 from the plate for a .750 average, scoring eight runs and driving in five. With four doubles and a triple, his slugging percentage was 1.250. English also posted an .824 on-base percentage.
