Macalester’s Nathan Young (So., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) took top honors in the two backstroke events and added a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle to lead the way for the Scots Friday and Saturday (Jan. 16-17) at the Grinnell Invitational. Young reached the wall first in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke with a 51.12 clocking and also placed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.62. His second-place time in the 100 freestyle was 47.40. One week earlier, Young was named MIAC men’s swimming and diving athlete of the week.
