Wade Ekstrom (Jr., La Crescent, Minn.) led the way for the Scots by placing 10th at the NCAA Division III Central Region championships at Grinnell, Iowa. Normally, a 10th-place regional finish would certainly qualify a runner for the national meet, but Ekstrom came up just one spot shot. Ekstrom was sixth among all MIAC runners and completed the 8,000-meter course in 25:51.1. He moved up from from a 39th place finish at last year’s regionals.
