MIAC player of the week Crystal Barriga (So., Broomfield, Colo. / Legacy) batted .500 in six games, collecting 10 hits in 20 at-bats with three doubles and two home runs. Barriga led the Scots to a comeback victory over St. Mary’s by going 2-for-3 with three RBI in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Wednesday (April 23). She nearly led Macalester to another game two comeback, belting two-run homers in the fourth and fifth innings against Hamline before the Scots came up short. For the season, through 32 games, Barriga leads the team in batting (.396), RBI (36), slugging percentage (673), home runs (5) and extra base hits (18).
