Nick Worcester joined the Macalester baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2023 as the program’s first full-time assistant coach. Worcester’s duties at Macalester include recruiting as well as coaching the team’s infielders and player development.
Previously, Worcester was an assistant coach in charge of outfielders and hitting at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill. He also developed the team’s strength and conditioning program and assisted in recruiting. Prior to his position at Dominican, Worcester served as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons at Hiram (Ohio) College, where he was involved in on-field coaching, recruiting, strength and conditioning and administrative duties. He began his collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Central College in Pella, Iowa.
A native of Bloomingdale, Ill., Worcester was a four-year member of the baseball team at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. As a senior he helped the Statesmen win the Heart of American Conference championship. Worcester earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from William Penn in 2019. He also has a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Hiram College.
“I am very excited to be joining the Macalester baseball program,” Worcester said. “Joining a program with the history of sustained excellence on and off the field like Macalester baseball is a hard thing to find. I look forward to providing my experience and expertise to push our student-athletes to their highest potential both on the diamond and in their lives outside the lines.”
