Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because I loved the emphasis on multiculturalism and internationalism. I loved that these elements could be attributed to the opportunities within the Twin Cities. Additionally, I loved the idea that I could further my academic career while also continuing water polo.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you?
Academically, I have been given the chance to intellectually challenge myself. I have the freedom to explore questions that intrigue me and expand myself as a scholar. Athletically, I have been given the chance to develop myself. The coaches are very hands on, they help provide feedback and advice - things that weren’t as readily available during my high school and club years - which helped me fix critical mistakes.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
As a student-athlete I have learned how to take care of myself during intense and hectic moments. I am confident that these moments and skills I have developed from these situations will help me in my professional life after graduation.
