Macalester College Athletics

Jennie Charlesworth is in her seventh season as head water polo coach and fourth as Aquatics Coordinator at Macalester College, where she also serves as an a assistant coach with the swimming and diving programs.

Charlesworth was named coach of the tournament at the 2011 CWPA Division III women's water polo tournament and, as the head men's club coach, has earned CWPA Heartland Division coach of the year honors in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

A 2001 graduate of San Jose State University, where she played for the fifth-ranked NCAA Division I program in the nation. Charlesworth swam for San Jose State for one season before concentrating on water polo for her final three collegiate seasons.

Charlesworth was formerly the head girls’ water polo coach and swimming coach at St. Joseph High School in Lakewood, Calif., a position she held for seven years, and was also employed as Aquatics Specialist for the city of Anaheim, Calif., before being hired at Macalester.

She began her polo and swimming coaching career, in 2001, as head coach for the boy’s program at St. John Bosco High School after graduation from SJSU.
