Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I love the idea of a close-knit group of people, and I fell in love with St. Paul. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to run here, as well. I was also very intrigued with the focus on international students and the foreign language proficiency requirements.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
My experience at Macalester has taught me so much about being a well-rounded student, a dedicated athlete, and a strong woman. Being at Macalester with all of these people that encourage me to take care of myself and be the best I can be allows me to grow into a good person.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
My first seasons of track and cross country did not go as well as I had hoped, and it was very discouraging. I honestly gave quitting a good, solid thought, but then I realized how much I loved the sport. The team, my coach, and the Macalester environment made me love running again and I was able to beat my personal best this last track season. I've learned a lot about perseverance and enjoying life.
