Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I knew that I wanted to go to college away from my hometown and at the type of school where I would be a name and not a number. Macalester offered the perfect balance of a tight-knit community inside a larger urban area. I knew Macalester was the right choice because I felt drawn to the school as a whole and not just the athletics program.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?

Being at Macalester has meant that I am constantly challenged. Whether it's in the classroom or on the field, Macalester has forced me to ask questions, take chances, and above all keep an open mind.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?

As a Macalester student athlete I've learned a lot about what it really means to be a teammate. While it sounds cliche to say that athletes support each other on and off the field, Mac student athletes truly embody this idea. Being an athlete at Macalester has taught me the importance of transferring the essence of team camaraderie into other facets of life. The Macalester community is one which fosters positive relationships throughout, thus encouraging individuals to support one another in athletics, academics and everything in between.
