Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose to attend Macalester because of the warmth and kindness I experienced from the XCTF team and the school community during my visit. I had the opportunity to stay in one of my former high school teammates' dorms and got to experience what life would be like on the team. I cannot begin to express how kind, welcoming, and genuine the team was, and I knew after the first hour I spent there that Macalester was going to be the place for me. Additionally, I chose Macalester because of the educational opportunities that it provides. During my tour, I had the chance to sit in on a class called "Gender Relations in Islam," which was one of the most fascinating classes I have ever taken. It rekindled my excitement and love for learning and assured me that if I were to choose Macalester, my education would truly be valued and put at the forefront. Overall, the educational opportunities and the welcoming community are the biggest reasons for why I chose to attend Macalester.
