Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I was looking for a small, liberal arts school that had a strong science department and a swim team I could be apart of. Macalester met all of these criteria and more. The more I learned about Macalester, the more I wanted to go there.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you?
My experience at Macalester has been invaluable because of the countless opportunities that this institution has presented me with. In the pool, I get to train with some of my closest friends to reach my goals. These same people have supported my academic journey as well, encouraging me to engage in challenging and thought-provoking material. In addition to both swimming and academics, I have been able to be a part of many awesome clubs and organizations on campus.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
My experience as a student-athlete has taught me valuable skills such as time management, asking for help, making and achieving goals, and working hard while still having fun. Through this, my team has helped me develop athletically and academically and I have made some amazing friends along the way.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student athlete has taught me to balance school, work, and other extracurricular activities while still making time to participate in something I love.
