Why I chose Macalester:
I chose Macalester because of both its competitive soccer program and its strong academic reputation.  Being a small liberal arts college, I knew I would benefit from Macalester's small class sizes and committed professors. I also chose Macalester because its location in the Saint Paul, a large metropolitan area, and its strong community ties to the Twin Cities.

What Macalester has meant to me:
Macalester has provided an incredible environment for me to excel both academically and athletically.  Having small classes with dedicated professors has been an amazing experience, and has really helped me to discover which subjects I am most passionate about.  Macalester has also been a great place to play soccer.  We have some of the best fans, and it is really great to have the support of the college community as well.

How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
Being a Macalester student-athlete has played a large role in my college experience.  My teammates have become my closest friends, and the chance to play soccer has really allowed for me to further develop leadership qualities in an atmosphere outside of the classroom.  I have had the opportunity to become a part of various different communities on campus, which has provided a very supportive environment for discovering new interests while still pursuing previous ones.
