Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I chose Mac because of the general vibes I got from the people here, the soccer team, and the campus itself. I can't really explain it other than that I felt like I could see myself in this environment! I knew that I wanted to play  soccer and the two-team program here allowed me an opportunity to pursue soccer at a collegiate level, and to find a source of solid community in my team here!

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?

Macalester has offered me so many opportunities so far for personal growth. Of course taking challenging classes here has also helped me grow in the ways I learn and formulate ideas, but I've just also learned in more ways that just in an intellectual sense, and I've seen myself and my friends develop a better awareness of our responsibilities, actions, interests, and pursuits.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?

I think that being a student athlete here has given me a much better sense of what my priorities are. Since it can get pretty busy during the season with everything going on, there isn't a ton of free time and that makes me re-evaluate what I want to be doing with the spare time that I have. Being a student-athlete has also just helped me find a better sense of balance in my everyday life.
