Josh Jurek joined the women's soccer program as the Scots' goalkeeper coach in the spring of 2022. A Minnesota native hailing from Duluth, Jurek brings a strong passion for soccer and coaching to the Macalester coaching staff. He has great familiarity with the MIAC, spending four years at Concordia College as a goalkeeper. He then transitioned over to the Cobber women’s soccer program under coach Rebecca Quimby for the 2018-2020 seasons as the first assistant and goalkeeper coach.

Josh brings with him over 10 years of club and high school coaching. He has spent time with Duluth Denfeld High School, Hill-Murray High School and was a part of the staff that helped lead Waconia High School to their first state tournament appearance. Jurek also has a strong connection with the youth sports throughout Minnesota. He has experience across a variety of ages; He has spent with St. Croix Academy, Waconia, Eagan and now starting this year working the Fusion Soccer Club out of Plymouth, Minn.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his fiancée and taking their Australian Shepherd “Koda” out for long walks in the woods. He also enjoys coaching other youth sports including hockey and lacrosse.
