Why did you chose Macalester?
I chose Macalester for the diverse student body and great academics. Mac will allow me to make new friends who will challenge my beliefs and ideas. I came to discover Mac's close knit society in a huge city which will let me do everything I love: soccer, school, and meet new people.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
I am pursuing a medical career and, as a student athlete, I am able to work together, communicate and receive criticism from my teammates to continuously improve, which is what I want to take to medical school and into my daily life as well. The biggest positive of a student-athlete is their support group--their team. I will make these connections with people and when we're scattered all over the globe next year I will still have these friendships and contacts to share memories with. Those memories have made me more comfortable in my own skin each day, with laughter, stress, smiles, success and failure, to make me who I am.
