Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I chose to attend Macalester because the college has everything I wanted like excellent athletics and academic rigor. Macalester is a wonderful and reputable college, and it is one of the few liberal arts schools that offers majors and minors in Japanese, Statistics, and Computer Science. Moreover, it is the perfect size at around 2,100 undergrad students, giving me the opportunity to have a close relationship with my teachers and students. When I visited, all the students were extremely kind, and I knew that this was the college I belonged at.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Being a student-athlete gives me another great perspective of what Macalester has to offer. The women's cross country team has given me great support and determination as an athlete, a student, and a woman. This team brings a lot of inspiration and fun!
