As a Scot

Dean’s List recipient … 2016-2017 Sophomore leader for Lives of Commitment … Studying abroad in Serbia, Bosnia, & Kosovo in Spring 2018.

2018
Named to the MIAC All-Academic team… Recorded a PR at the Central Region Championships, finishing 23rd with a time of 22:56, which places her in eighth on the Macalester Top 50 Honor Roll… Opened the season with a seventh place finish at the Macalester/St. Olaf Invitational 4k, finishing with a time of 16:51… Placed 31st at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 29, running the 6k in 24:35… Took third at the St. Kate’s Invite 5k on Oct. 6 with a time of 20:04.

2017
Earned a spot on the All-MIAC Honorable Mention team, finishing the MIAC Championship course in 23:25 to take 22nd… Named to the MIAC All-Academic team… Took seventh at the St. Kate’s Invite, running the 5k in 19:47, which was a personal record and ranked tied for 40th on Macalester’s Top 50 Honor Roll… Completed the Central Region Championship route in 23:26, placing in the top 50.

2016 
Raced to a season PR at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational with a time of 25:56 for the 6,000 meter course.


2015 

Ran 21:04 for the 5,000 meter in her first collegiate race at the Luther All-American … Raced a time of 25:59 in her collegiate 6,000 meter debut at the St. Olaf Invitational … Ran 16:32 in the 4,000 meter at the St. Kate’s Invitational, a time making her 49th on the Macalester all-time 4,000 meter top 50 honor roll … Raced a 6,000 meter PR at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational with a time of 25:31.

Before Mac

Served as cross country team captain at Free State High School … Earned all-area honorable mention honors … Valedictorian of graduating class … Member of National Honor Society … Named a Kansas State Scholar.


Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I wanted to go to a small, liberal arts school for the small class sizes and personalized attention. I looked for a school with access to a large city and outdoor adventures. I wanted to be in a community with interesting, kind, and passionate people, and I think Macalester has much to offer.

 

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?

Macalester has boosted my confidence in my ability to assess situations critically, articulate my thoughts and experiences through writing, and make intentional decisions. My understanding of myself and the ways my privilege functions have deepened.

 

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?

As a student-athlete at Macalester, I constantly navigate my academic, athletic, and personal communities and commitments while also finding time and space to take care of myself. I’ve learned how to seek a balance that feels best for me.
