Biography
Why I chose Macalester:
I chose to go to Macalester because I knew that I wanted to go to a small, liberal arts school, yet I also wanted to be in an urban location. I was intrigued by Macalester's international focus and was excited that I would be able to continue playing sports at the DIII level. I visited in early December and loved the feeling of the campus, the students that I met, and the classes that I visited, so I decided to apply early decision.
What Macalester has meant to me:
So far my experience at Macalester has been very memorable and all that I could ask for in a college experience. I have met amazing friends and professors and have truly enjoyed my studies in Psychology, Sociology, and all of the random classes that I have taken. It has also been great to be a part of both the Softball and Cross Country teams, as they have provided me with a lot of support and encouragement over the past three years.
How Macalester Cross Country has shaped me as an individual:
My experience as a student-athlete has helped me become more efficient in my studies and learn how to be involved in many different types of activities/organizations at once. It has helped me get to know many friends both in and out of the classroom and has taught me to be a more focused, and dilligent individual.
How Macalester Cross Country has prepared me for life after graduation:
Being a studen- athlete has taught me how to lead a balanced life by learning to focus on my studies, but also stay healthy and active. It has prepared me to work with many different types of people on a team and in an academic setting and has provided me with a supportive network of friends, professors, and coaches for life.
